Siargao: Things To Do & Instagrammable Spots

Siargao : Top Things To Do

Siargao is honestly one of the most beautiful Islands I've ever visited in Asia. Known for its crystal clear water, amazing surf, and unlimited amounts of palm trees. It was voted the best island in the world in 2018/2019 and since then it has become very popular. Siargao is truly a perfect paradise for any type of traveler. We spend 6 days on the island and realized there is so much to see on the. Here are some of the places we visited during our trip to Siargao.

Massin River

The famous Palm Tree rope swing in Massin River is probably one of the most popular spots in Siargao for anyone wanting the perfect Instagram pic or a quick adrenaline rush. The river is just a 30-minute tricycle or scooter ride away from general luna. We arrived at 7 am the lighting was perfect for photos and we were the only visitors. An hour was plenty of time for us to swing off the rope, take pictures, and go on a mini boat trip to the secret lagoon. If you're looking to beat the crowds I highly recommend getting here before 8 am. We saw loads of tourists arriving here for the swing and it can easily get busy and crowded. The local guides who work here are very helpful. They help you get on the tree safely to swing and they also row the boat to the secret lagoon.

Cost: The entrance fee is 20P per person (39 cents) to enter. We also took a private boat to the secret lagoon which cost 500p ($9). We also tipped the guides for helping us up the swing. In total, we spent $12 USD.

Siargao Mountain View Point

This view viewpoint is just one of the many things that make Siargao one of the most beautiful islands in Asia. From the top of the road, you'll see miles and miles of Palm trees and the mountain range behind it. It's the perfect place for a pit stop if you want to take in the view. You can visit this location at any time of the day and get the perfect pictures. It is about a 20-minute ride from General luna on the same road to Massin River.

Coconut Palm Road

This straight road lined with thousands of palm trees is another Insta famous spot. It is just a few minutes away from the Siargao Mountain View Point on the way to Massin River. We only had to stay here for about 15 minutes to fly our drone and get the pictures we wanted. It is a great stop if you're passing by while exploring the island.

Pacifico Beach

Pacifico Beach is a 1-hour ride from General Luna but it is worth it. This village had one of the best beaches on the island. The crystal clear blue ocean and white sand beaches were nothing short of a dream. It is a nice quiet oasis away from the tourist hubs. We spent a couple of hours here having lunch, relaxing on the beach, and sipping cocktails. It's a must-visit if you're looking for a relaxing beach or somewhere to surf.

Cloud 9

Cloud 9 has one of the best surf breaks in the Philippines. It's a great place to go if you're a pro or just looking to try a surf lesson. There are tons of instructors on the beach and it is also a great spot if you want to hang out or go for a dip. We went there on our first day to Siargao and enjoyed watching the sunset. It's not a secluded as Pacifico beach but a great option if you're looking to be around other people and make friends.

Island Hopping

Island hopping was one of my favorite things to do in Siargao. Siargao is surrounded by beautiful islands. You can do the 3 island tour, Sohoton Cove, sugba lagoon, and more. If you want to know more about the Island Hopping check out my next blog post.

Some other places you might want to check out that we weren't able to visit are:

  • Algeria Beach

  • Magpungku Rock Pools (figure 8 pools)

  • Tak Tak Waterfall

  • Mangrove Forest
